HMA Motocross - Points Standings and RPV Scores

The HMA has gone to great lengths to try and assess riders class placement. Many suggestions have been made. Many ideas have been tested. Things to consider is not only a riders race finishes but the amount and level of riders that raced in the associated moto. This is why basing performance purely on a riders total season points doesn't work. An average rider for a given class can win a season championship by merely racing all races and an extremely fast rider won't even place in the top five for the championship because they may have only raced in 3 or 4 races. In creating a rule to govern the placement and advancement of riders a system was devised to "weight" a riders performance from the moto finish in relation to the amount of riders in that moto. ex; a rider who finishes 2nd in a moto of 5 riders is not the same as finishing 2nd in a moto of 15. The 2nd place in 15 finish needs to carry a lot more weight as they beat out 4 times the riders to achieve that position (2nd of 5 = 3 riders beat, 2nd of 15 = 13 riders beat). To solve this issue a scale was created and designed to only promote the consistent top performing riders.

HMA Motocross - 2011/2012 Season - Round 8 (03-04-12) {CANCELED}

March 4th, 2012

Sadly this race was canceled due to nonstop rain for over 10 days. Very unfortunate, as this was a planned observation day for Schaefer Tracks to see our riders compete and how our track holds up to a day of racing. As most of your know, it rained solidly for the next week and prevented any track work to be done.

See you March 25th for Round 9
